Overview

About this service

Your filter is what keeps your water clear between visits, and when it's clogged or worn out, everything else has to work harder to make up for it. Polar Pools cleans and services every common filter type across the Wasatch Front, from Santaquin to Ogden, so your system stays efficient and your water stays clean.

We handle the full range of filter work. That includes cartridge cleaning and replacement, sand and glass filter cleaning, backwashing, and complete media swaps where old sand or glass is removed and replaced with fresh media. If a filter is damaged rather than just dirty, we can tear it down and repair it too. Each filter type takes different work and materials, so we quote most of them per type. The one fixed price is our cartridge deep clean at $125.

Filter cleaning doesn't involve pool chemicals, so there are no separate chemical charges on this service. You get a clear price for the work itself, up front, before we start.

How it works

  1. Tell us your filter type. Cartridge, sand, glass, or DE. If you're not sure, describe your setup and we'll figure it out.
  2. We quote it up front. Cartridge deep cleans are $125. Everything else is priced by filter type before any work begins.
  3. We do the work. Clean, backwash, or swap media, whatever your filter needs to run right.
  4. Your system runs better. Cleaner filtration means clearer water and less strain on your equipment.
FAQ

Common questions

How much does filter cleaning cost?

A cartridge deep clean is $125. Sand, glass, and DE filter cleans, backwashing, and media swaps are quoted per filter type, since the work and materials vary. Tell us what filter you have and we'll give you a clear price up front.

How often should a pool filter be cleaned?

As a general rule, cartridge filters benefit from a deep clean a couple of times a season, and sand or glass media should be checked periodically and swapped when it stops filtering effectively. A clogged or worn filter makes your whole system work harder and leaves your water less clear, so staying ahead of it protects both your water and your equipment.

What types of filters do you service?

All the common ones: cartridge, sand, glass, and DE. We handle cartridge cleaning and replacement, sand and glass filter cleaning, backwashing, and full media swaps where the old sand or glass is removed and replaced. If you're not sure what type you have, we can identify it for you.

What filter care is included with a maintenance plan?

If you're on a regular maintenance plan, cartridge cleaning and backwashing are included as part of your service. Swapping out media, replacing the sand or glass in a sand or glass filter, is additional, since it involves new materials and extra labor. You don't need to be on a plan to use us, though. All of our filter services are available standalone too.
